The Event Wales Sector Development and Sustainability Innovation Scheme awarded onboard:earth funding to deliver a Sustainable Events Accelerator project. The project is designed to produce outcomes that are replicable across the industry, where organisations will be able to use existing free-to-access tools and resources to help incorporate sustainable travel and transport initiatives into their events, measure impacts and ultimately reduce travel impacts.
The scope of the project has focused on the events sector across Wales and has engaged with a wide variety of events, festivals and venues within the sector through consultation with the events sector, the transport sector, local authorities, government and (including Event Wales) to gain insights on challenges and solutions to sustainable travel and transport in Wales.
