Forest Carbon

onboard.earth supports Forest Carbon through the Trees+ programme: For every £15 donation onboard.earth plants trees in the UK with Forest Carbon to offset 1 tonne of carbon in accordance with the Woodland Carbon Code.

Forest Carbon leads the way in voluntary carbon woodland creation in the UK. Through the planting of over 7.5 million new trees in 145+ new woodlands in the UK since 2006 their projects are removing over 1,900,000 tonnes of CO2 from the global atmosphere, as well as providing a host of other benefits to society, including flood mitigation, river improvement and public access. Forest Carbon have various sites throughout the UK and are regularly adding new tree planting sites.

Forest Carbon enables the planting of otherwise non-viable new woodlands in the UK through generating investment in Woodland Carbon Code certified credits arising from those woodlands.  They support the creation of new woodlands in the UK for organisations wanting to mitigate the impact of their greenhouse gas emissions and make a contribution to wider environmental benefit. These are companies who already avoid and reduce their emissions as far as they can, and want to capturing the remaining balance. So far, together with their partners, they have planted over 7.5 million trees in the UK, in woodlands independently audited and certified under the UK Woodland Carbon Code – the government backed standard that offers corporate partners complete assurance about the high quality of their carbon investment. In addition to capturing CO2 a UK woodland also delivers other local and tangible benefits for biodiversity, landscape, flood management, water quality and recreation.
