Ourea Events

Ourea Events organise mountain and trail running events across the UK. They calculate employee, participant, contractor and volunteer travel mileage and record in their annual carbon audit. Recognising that travel is the biggest carbon generator for their company they work to reduce emissions where possible. For event participants they provide bus transport to races where possible and buses to return participants to their vehicles at the end of races. They provide shuttle bus systems at some of their races to encourage participants to travel to the races via public transport. 

In 2024, to further tackle travel emissions, they have created a Climate Action Plan which includes actions to tackle their highest emissions which are all travel related. They are adapting event team expenses to incentivise the event team to travel more sustainably. Implementing case parking charges into some of their new races and developing a car sharing strategy for the event team and participants.
