As a London festival the majority of the audience travel to Junction 2 (capacity 12,000) via public transport. In 2024, Junction 2 collected a £1.75 carbon levy on audience ticket prices which will continue in 2025.
The event team focused on gathering better travel data in 2024 to help understand how to reduce impacts and to support their commitment to offsetting unavoidable emissions. To understand construction and breakdown transport impacts their travel marshals asked every vehicle for a start postcode and vehicle type. They incentivised audiences to share travel data with a competition to win a bar tab. In 2025 they have a ‘no private jet policy’ for artists and will be working on gathering accurate staff travel data.
