Since 2016, Ticketsellers have worked with onboard:earth to embed our Travel Carbon Calculator into their ticket-buying process meaning that their event clients can offer event-goers the option to calculate their travel emissions in a simple and accurate way at point of ticketsale and make a donation to environmental restoration projects through our parters.
The Ticketsellers also share onboard earths’s advice and resources for reducing travel carbon emissions from event travel such as our Guide to Sustainable Travel for Festival and Events – encouraging events to offer more sustainable ways of travelling wherever possible.
In 2024, Ticketsellers and onboard:earth began a shared project to conduct the UK Festival Industry’s largest ever travel data survey of crew and artists. The goal is to survey every single person working at all the medium to large festivals in the UK at the point they arrive on site. On arrival individuals will be asked a few simple questions about their travel. Gathering the data at this point will lead to the most accurate results, instead of trying to predict travel plans ahead of time.
This data will be analysed using a combination of people-power and AI to produce an individual report for each event and an aggregated report for the industry as a whole.
