Heal’s name is its purpose: heal the land, heal nature, heal ourselves. To fulfil this purpose, the charity is raising funding to acquire sites for rewilding in a systematic and strategic way across England, bringing hope and optimism and acting as a focus for individual and corporate involvement in nature recovery, the mitigation of climate change and people’s wellbeing through access to nature.
Heal Rewilding was launched in March 2020 as the UK’s first charity dedicated to being a rewilding landowner and it acquired its 460-acre foundation site, Heal Somerset, in December 2022.
Donations from onboard:earth’s membership will help the charity towards fulfilling their aim to have a Heal site in every English county, rewilding the land while bringing economic benefit to communities, creating new jobs and attracting investment into the locality.
